iGATE

Technical and HR:

* Just read the topics related to your dept thoroughly, about projects, accept if you dont know the ans to a question, but dont repeat it again and again. Try to give an attempt.

Technical interview:

1. Brief introduction.
2. What is ur favourite subject.
3. How microprocessor work.
4. Which language u know.
5. What is pointer & advantage? Why we use it.
6. What is ur hobbies & asked ques. on that.
7. Why signal light in traffic signal is red.
8. ASKED A QUES OF APTITUDE FROM OUR WRITTEN TEST. JUST 2 SEE THAT YOU HAVE DONE IT TO URSELF OR NOT

1)Tech interview: most students said a lot of tech question were asked.. from C, CPP, DBMS, OS, Data Structures, sorting algortithms.
Simple Rule: BE Confident in wht u say!! else they ask us more details..
Interviewer asked me which all sorting algorithm I know."I said quick bubble insertion slection"
then asked complexity of each.. thts all
Some were asked linked lists.. (no program was asked.. just explain concepts)
then referential integrity, foreign keys, types of sql queires (select, delete etc) etc etc

for me tech was little only! my resume said I have good interests in stock markets. so he asked a lot about that! I answered all of them and then asked 4-5 tech questions.. and about MINI PROJECT was asked..

Then interviewer will ask about ur marks in each sem.. if there is any drop,, he asks why..
for me its was a drop from 92 in 10th to 82% in 12th to 69% in btech! he asked me why.. just admitted I didnt study well .. and said I will score better in coming semester and will make aggragate to 73%.. he asked 3-4 times ARE U CONFIDENT? (like in KBC -BIG B ;)) I said yes! confident! sure!!
he said "if u dont make 73. i wont take u to igate!1 =)) )
then asked me why I want to join i gate..
then asked where u see ur self after 5 years.
then gave me HR form.. and feedback also was given on spot! (my accent was week.. he told to improve it..)

2) HR..
HR interviewer hd nothing new to ask me. she just repeated wht was asked in tech!!
why igate?? dream achievement? tell us about parents etc etc
at last "are u willing to sign a bond for 2 years."
I didnt accept.. still they took me in!

2. Technical Interview: Depends upon the H.R panel members. As i am a ECE student questions were from COMPUTER NETWORKS, DATA STRUCTURES & some C questions. My interview hardly went on for 10 minutes. But, sorry i dont know about the other department, i heard that they are drilling more and more for CSE, IT, MCA. If you are strong enough in your basics then you can easily clear technical.
Total no.of candidates cleared technical: 11

3. HR: Once you clear the technical then you are through your dream company iGATE. Listen the PPT well, because they ask questions from that also. Here they mainly check ur confidence level, communication, how fast you grasp and how fast ur mind works...
Final shortlisted candidates: 11

Technical:

there is technical round that contains 7 persons in separate cabins taking interview at the same time, its ur luck, to which person u go...

Questions asked are from dbms, from aptitude test taken, datstructure, simple flowcharts will be shown and o/p will be asked...

stick to the basics do revise normalizatin and rdbms...

The above round was the elimination round and they will see ur communication skills... they will concentrate on ur apti power.. after that, if u are recommended you have to face HR, it is a mere formality if u look confident and have good communication skills...
they will ask
why igate?
describe urself?
name ceo of igate?
why should i select u?
what are ur weakness and strengths and give related examples?

SECOND ROUND
